Kirsty Leahy
Kirsty Leahy is an award-winning Radio Presenter; international Master of Ceremonies, VO artist and DJ with 20 years experience in a high profile, fast paced industry and mum to a toddler currently working for BBC CWR.
Kirsty underwent major back surgery at 15 years of age, having to relinquish her dream of being a full-time musical theatre actress; but embraced a new passion and career by engaging with her audience through radio and tv broadcasting.
Kirsty Leahy brings an effervescent energy to all of her roles and draws her listeners in with her down to earth and larger than life personality. She’s enjoyed brightening her listeners days by sharing her (often hilarious) anecdotes; for example when hosting a Gala Dinner at Blenheim Palace and she was sat beside former Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindell MBE who revealed some rather risqué stories about previous rugby tours and filled her in on what it is like to part of the Royal family!
Kirsty loves to use her platform to give back to the community. As such, Kirsty has taken on the role of a ‘Board Director’ for a CIC in Oxfordshire and is also renowned for supporting and raising funds within the local community for charities and good causes and is a big believer in Social Enterprise.
Kirsty won a National Radio Award (the commercial radio equivalent to the Oscars) for her “Thirsty Kirsty” Charity beer campaign through which she developed and sold her own craft beer. This was in collaboration with well known local brewers ‘Hook Norton Brewery’ and raised vital funds for the local charity ‘Dogs for Good’.
Kirsty has a zest for life and is always up for a challenge! Some of her achievements include running 10K for charity, a half marathon with a friend who is registered blind and learning to DJ in 6 weeks for Breast Cancer UK. She loved the DJ challenge so much so that she does her own gigs.
Kirsty was thrilled to achieve a life -long ambition in the summer of 2019 when she interviewed Kylie Minogue.
When Covid hit, Kirsty found the right time in her busy career to take a break and had a lockdown baby! Kirsty worked 2 weeks up until Skylar was born and was struck by Covid . Kirsty went back to work 4 weeks later to do a DJ set & is now Freelancing with BBC CWR.
