‘Menopause in the Workplace’ workshop
Tuesday 17th March 2020
Cotswold Park Barns, Woodmancote, near Cirencester
All women will go through the menopause in their lifetime. The stage beforehand – the perimenopause can last up to 10 years and can produce some unpleasant symptoms for some women, making it difficult for them to carry out their roles effectively. In some cases, women who have held very senior positions within organisations, have quit their jobs for fear of not being able to perform efficiently.
With an ageing UK workforce, more women will be in employment during this period of their lives, so it’s important
more employers consider introducing menopause friendly working environments to support their female workforce and to create a culture where employees (male and female) are encouraged to talk openly about the menopause and feel supported in their workplace.
Who should attend?
The aim of this event is to help Managers, Business Leaders, HR professionals and those leading on wellbeing, a practical understanding of the menopause and explore what level of guidance and adjustments could be made to support their female workers and managers.
It’s important that employers recognise the challenges that most women face and think about introducing guidance and practical solutions which acknowledge that additional support may be required during this time.
Are you engaged in the menopause and do you understand it?
– Are you giving women the confidence to be open about their menopausal challenges?
– Are you taking responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of menopausal employees?
– How can you support women on their menopausal journey to ensure productivity levels are managed?
– Menopause at work affects men as well as women!
Talking about the menopause helps improve productivity and reduce absenteeism by leading and encouraging conversations between colleagues around practical needs and support ensuring positive solutions across all levels of the organisation.
What topics will be covered?
The workshop will focus on engaging and leading positive menopause discussions and support across all levels of the workplace through tailored, interactive programmes aligned to your organisation’s culture.
We will then look at:
- Impact on the Workplace including menopause conversations at work, menopause & work – why now?
- Legal, Economic & Social challenges
- Menopause guidance and policies
- Practical solutions including case studies
- Discussion around reasonable adjustments
- Action plan to take back to your business
