‘Menopause in the Workplace’ workshop

All women will go through the menopause in their lifetime. The stage beforehand – the perimenopause can last up to 10 years and can produce some unpleasant symptoms for some women, making it difficult for them to carry out their roles effectively. In some cases, women who have held very senior positions within organisations, have quit their jobs for fear of not being able to perform efficiently. 

With an ageing UK workforce, more women will be in employment during this period of their lives, so it’s important 

more employers consider introducing menopause friendly working environments to support their female workforce and to create a culture where employees (male and female) are encouraged to talk openly about the menopause and feel supported in their workplace. 

 Who should attend? 

The aim of this event is to help Managers, Business Leaders, HR professionals and those leading on wellbeing, a practical understanding of the menopause and explore what level of guidance and adjustments could be made to support their female workers and managers. 

It’s important that employers recognise the challenges that most women face and think about introducing guidance and practical solutions which acknowledge that additional support may be required during this time.

  • Legal, Economic & Social challenges 
  • Menopause guidance and policies 
  • Practical solutions including case studies 
  • Discussion around reasonable adjustments 
  • Action plan to take back to your business 

Who is running the workshop? 

Secret Warriors are partnering with Talking Menopause who have educated over 6,000 employees from more than 50 organisations from Barclays to BT, Avon & Somerset Police and University Hospitals Birmingham. Co-founder and Director Sarah Davies will be leading the workshop. Sarah is a multi-lingual, experienced and qualified business coach, facilitator and trainer who previously spent over 15 years in senior international corporate roles before recruiting senior executives at Heidrick & Struggles. 

Earlier in her career, Sarah worked in the IT Services Industry at Fujitsu-ICL, working in International business development and client management positions for global clients. She also worked at Thomas Cook running their B2B Global and Financial Services business for Western and Southern Europe. 

Sarah feels passionate about making a difference to people’s lives and was Business Manager to Dr Louise Newson, helping her launch www.menopausedoctor.co.uk which led her to set up Talking Menopause to educate 

and support men and women across all levels on the impact of menopause at work.

The workshop will commence at 10.30 am and finish at 4.00 pm and includes lunch and drinks throughout the day.
