Two lifelong friends are launching an all-inclusive network aimed at businesswomen across the region.

Lisa Kennedy and Julie Richardson are directors of  LadiesFirst Professional Development, an organisation aimed at providing support for women running their own businesses and professional women who want to further their career.

Said Lisa: “We are a membership organisation designed to help women and their businesses reach their true potential. We aim to do this in a practical way that adds value to women in business. We are an inclusive network involving women of all backgrounds and cultures regardless of what stage they are at in their business life or career.

“LadiesFirst will organise an event every month and our aim is for our network to be an incubator for ideas and development for all women.”

The inaugural event will take place at Nailcote Hall, near Balsall Common on 16th January when a half-day event will include an internationally-acclaimed speaker, lunch and networking.

Julie said: “We have already had positive feedback and a lot of interest from women wanting to be involved which confirmed the findings of our research which highlighted there was a gap in the market for an all-encompassing network to help women thrive in the world of business.  Many professional women and media personalities have already offered their support which will ensure that our first event will be hugely attractive.”

Lisa and Julie are working on a full programme following the launch event on January 16, which is being sponsored by Nailcote Hall.

The two Warwickshire women have been friends for many years and are both experts in marketing and public relations, having at one time worked together in those fields for a large financial institution. Lisa heads up corporate relations for Barclays in the Midlands region and Julie is the business development manager for Alsters Kelley – a firm of solicitors in Coventry and Warwickshire.
